Note From the Parkway Early Learning Director

Dear Early Childhood Families,
Happy April! We are loving the signs of spring all around us—longer days, blooming flowers, and lots of opportunities for fresh air and outdoor fun!
This month, we’re celebrating two very special groups in our Panda family—our administrative assistants and program coordinators!
Our amazing admin team keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. They are our problem-solvers, organizers, and welcoming faces for families and staff alike. We are so grateful for Amanda, Brenda, Carolyn, Kim, Natalie, Stephany, and Vicki for all they do each day!
Our program coordinators help lead the way in creating a positive, nurturing environment for our students and staff. They support learning, build connections, and ensure every child and family feels valued. A big thank you to Amy Dickson, Dr. Heather Gehner, Dr. Jen Roper, Dr. Liz Kenner, and Margaret Donnelly for your dedication and leadership!
A quick note, kind word, or even a silly song or handmade card from your child is a fun way to share appreciation—these little gestures mean so much!
As we move into spring, it’s the perfect time to notice growth—not just in nature, but in our children too! Just like flowers, children grow and thrive with care, patience, and the right environment. Outdoor play is especially important this time of year. It supports creativity, builds strength and coordination, and encourages curiosity about the world around them.
Here are a few simple ways to enjoy spring learning at home:
- Take a nature walk and look for signs of spring (buds, birds, insects)
- Let your child dig, plant, or water flowers
- Draw or talk about what they see changing outdoors
- Enjoy unstructured outdoor play—running, climbing, and exploring
We also recognize Disabilities Awareness this month and celebrate the incredible strength, love, and advocacy of our staff and families supporting children with autism and other disabilities. Your compassion and commitment help create a community where every child is valued, included, and able to thrive.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Panda community. We are so grateful for you!
Warmly,
Dr. Elena Amirault
